Martin I. Davis, ASA mdavis@mdavisgrp.com Martin Davis, Chief Executive Officer, is an Accredited Senior Appraiser and longstanding member of the American Society of Appraisers. As principal Auctioneer and Appraiser for M. Davis Group, Marty has coordinated, directed, and participated in thousands of appraisals and sales across a broad spectrum of industries—including heavy industrial, manufacturing, and food processing. With more than thirty years of experience, Marty is an internationally recognized expert and a much sought after consultant in the world of business and finance. He advises some of the nation’s preeminent companies on sales, liquidations, mergers and acquisitions and performs an ongoing role as the “go-to” Appraiser for numerous asset-based lenders, private equity firms and corporations. Marty has also been called upon to give expert testimony in court litigations.
Marty is a renowned specialist in the area of equipment and machinery evaluation, as well as dairy, beverage and assorted food processing facilities appraisal. He has been a featured speaker on the appraisal of dairy and food processing plants.
Marty successfully completed the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) course in January 2000. He is a licensed Auctioneer in 24 states and, through reciprocal relationships, throughout most of the United States. He also conducts several charity auctions, pro bono, every year.
Marty received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pittsburgh.

Kevin provides a critical role in setting up our clients' auctions throughout the US. His knowledge of machinery, equipment and systems has made him a leader among auction personnel. Kevin has a tremendous talent for auction flow and is a key ingredient in the success of our auction sales.
Kevin also assists in the preparation of appraisals. His keen eye for value, coupled with his attention to detail and his general knowledge of machinery and equipment are essential elements in preparing accurate and meaningful appraisals. With nearly two decades of industry experience, Kevin provides a great foundation for the services that we provide.

Joann comes packed with over 30 years of industry experience. Over the course of her career, she has managed the Auction Office at over 250 auction sales sites and is highly respected by our clients and her peers.
Joann oversees the compilation of the appraisals and auction catalogs for our clients and plays a critical role on-site in coordinating all the details that must happen in order to successfully provide our services. In fact, she has been involved in the completion of over 500 auctions and appraisals over the years. Her vast knowledge of machinery and equipment and her relentless attention to all of the fine points are a necessary part of our success.

Robert S. Mermelstein, CPA bob@mdavisgrp.com Bob Mermelstein, Chief Operating Officer, oversees all operating, strategic and financial matters for M. Davis Group. He is also responsible for making certain that our auction clients receive a fair and accurate accounting of their auction results and costs and receive their funds on a timely basis.
Bob is expert in strategic and financial planning and analysis and financial sustainability and has worked with organizations ranging from large, publically traded companies to privately held and/or family owned entities to large and small nonprofit organizations. He has been a featured speaker on strategic and financial analysis.
Prior to joining M. Davis Group, Bob spent several years at Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) in both their general and tax practices. He was the Founder of American Planning Services, a management consulting firm that provided strategic and financial planning expertise internationally, largely with privately held and family owned companies. Bob was the CFO/COO for a digital printing company and created and implemented their operating/production policies and procedures and financial reporting and analyses functions.
Bob received his MBA from the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh and a BS in Finance from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University (Bloomington, IN).
